Together has already released several projects, including the image generator Stable Diffusion. These projects have gained support from hundreds of thousands of AI developers, including GPT-JT, OpenChatKit, and RedPajama. RedPajama, one of Together's first projects, aims to cultivate a new class of open-source generative models, including "chat" models similar to ChatGPT.

To support generative AI startups, Together AI has partnered with NVIDIA, Crusoe Cloud, Vultr, and others to operate cloud computing centers in Europe and the Americas, providing inference, training, and other services for enterprises. Among these partners is the text-to-video platform Pika Labs, which recently secured $55 million in funding.

Together is also making significant investments in open-source AI research. One of the company's first projects, RedPajama, seeks to cultivate a suite of open-source generative AI models, including "chat" models similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT. Together has also released a fine-tuned version of Meta's Llama 2 text generation model; GPT-JT, a fork of the open-source text analysis model GPT-J-6B (from the open research group EleutherAI); and OpenChatKit, an attempt at creating a ChatGPT equivalent.
