Why is it called Zhixi
"Zhi" (知) represents knowledge and information. Mind maps serve as the carrier, and we hope to use this carrier to help users better accumulate, present, and express the content they want to convey.
"Xi" (犀) comes from the phrase "心有灵犀一点通" (hearts communicate with a single hint). When everyone can clearly express their thoughts, we believe the distance between each other will shorten, and people can develop better understanding and rapport.
What new updates will Zhixi bring in the future?
On the tool level, we are currently continuously optimizing product performance, enriching features, and exploring development in the commercial domain—such as inserting tables, presentation mode, bidirectional links, team spaces, brainstorming, smart printing, etc. These features will be developed and supported one after another.
According to our roadmap, Zhixi has successively launched: online web version, Windows/macOS clients, Android/iOS/HarmonyOS APPs, Linux versions, etc. Of course, we will also continue to polish the knowledge template center and provide more quality content.
Why create a mind map tool?
Most of our current team members are former colleagues. During our previous work, we found that mind maps are a fantastic tool. They present information through a divergent structure with both text and images, simulating the learning mode of brain neurons. Whether for planning, brainstorming, or project presentations, they can improve thinking efficiency and help with communication and collaboration.
During our research and usage, we found that the adoption rate of mind maps is relatively low, and most excellent tools charge high fees. This struck a chord with us, so we decided that on the tool level, free use would be the priority, with payments only for high-frequency, professional, or enterprise usage as needed, to help more people understand and use mind maps.
