BiliNote Pro: An AI Video-to-Notes Tool
BiliNote Pro: An AI Video-to-Notes ToolIntroduction
BiliNote Pro is the online version of the open-source project BiliNote, available at bilinote.app. Its core feature is straightforward: paste a video link, and AI will organize it into notes for you. The project has over 6,000 Stars on GitHub, and since its launch in 2025, more than 10,000 people have used it, generating over 100,000 notes.
The tech stack is React + FastAPI, released under the MIT license. If you don't want to use the online version, you can self-host it—the codebase is fully open.

BiliNote Pro Features
BiliNote Pro currently supports Bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, YouTube, and Xiaoyuzhou podcasts. Xiaohongshu, Toutiao, and Channels (视频号) will be added later.
There are two ways to process videos. By default, it only extracts the audio, uses Whisper to convert it into text, and then has a large language model summarize it—suitable for speech-heavy videos like lectures and interviews. The other option is multimodal mode, which captures key frames from the video and sends them along with the audio to vision-capable models like Gemini, GPT-4o, or Tongyi Qianwen. This is better suited for content with rich visual information, such as PPT presentations, software tutorials, and travel vlogs.
Generated notes come in 9 styles: Concise, Detailed, Tutorial, Academic, Xiaohongshu, Lifestyle, Task-Oriented, Business, and Meeting Minutes. The same video can be regenerated in multiple versions, and all history is preserved. Additionally, it supports AI Q&A based on all your previously generated notes, effectively letting you search your notes library for answers.
For export, it supports PDF, Word, Markdown, and long-image posters, and can sync directly to Notion and Obsidian. Notes automatically include video screenshots and timestamps—click a timestamp to jump back to that point in the original video.
It integrates with many models, including GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Tongyi Qianwen, and Doubao, so you don't need to purchase API access or write prompts yourself.
Beyond the web version, there are also browser extensions (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) and Windows and macOS desktop clients. The extension can be triggered directly on Bilibili and other video pages, and the desktop client supports running local models offline.
BiliNote Pro Use Cases
Students watching Bilibili courses or YouTube tutorials can use it to generate structured notes, so they don't have to scrub back and forth during review.
Professionals can use the Meeting Minutes or Task-Oriented style to process meeting recordings and directly extract action items.
Content creators can use the Xiaohongshu style to convert video content into copy.
Podcast listeners can also convert Xiaoyuzhou audio to text and get a summary in one click.
Combined with Notion or Obsidian sync, you can gradually build your own knowledge base.
BiliNote Pro Getting Started Guide
Open bilinote.app, paste the video link—Bilibili, YouTube, Douyin, or Kuaishou all work.
Select a note style (Academic, Tutorial, Xiaohongshu, etc.), and decide whether to enable multimodal video understanding. It's recommended for PPT presentations or software demos.
Wait for it to finish. The system will automatically extract the audio, transcribe it, summarize it, and format it—usually taking one or two minutes.
Check the generated notes on the task page, where you can switch between different versions. Once satisfied, click export, choose your preferred format, or use the AI Q&A feature to ask questions about the note.
BiliNote Pro Advantages
The biggest highlight is that it's open source—the code is fully open, the community is active, and developers are free to modify it.
Multimodal understanding is another strong point—it not only listens to the audio but also sees the visuals, producing more complete notes.
The 9 note styles offer broad coverage, fitting everything from studying to work to posting on Xiaohongshu.
You can generate multiple versions of the same video to compare, which is quite useful.
Wide model selection means you aren't locked into any single provider. The browser extension is well-made—you can trigger it directly while watching Bilibili videos, and subtitle capture is more accurate.

BiliNote Pro FAQ
Q: How does BiliNote Pro work?
A: You paste a link. It first extracts the audio, uses Whisper to transcribe it into subtitles, then hands it off to a large language model to extract key points and structure the content, finally generating Markdown notes with a timeline. Results usually come back in 1 to 2 minutes.
Q: Which platforms does BiliNote Pro support?
A: Currently Bilibili, Douyin, Kuaishou, YouTube, and Xiaoyuzhou are all supported. Xiaohongshu, Toutiao, and Channels (视频号) are still under development.
Q: Can the notes be downloaded?
A: Yes, you can export to PDF, Word, Markdown, and long-image format, and also push them to Notion and Obsidian.
Q: Is my data secure?
A: The online version uses encryption. If you have strict privacy concerns, we recommend deploying the open-source version locally so data never leaves your machine.
Q: What's the difference between BiliNote Pro and the open-source version?
A: The Pro online version works out of the box—no need to install dependencies or configure models. The open-source version is for those who want to modify the code or have very strict privacy requirements.
