Subscribers have unlimited access to our entire catalog of film clips for use in any private or public commercial video production on any platform worldwide. Individually purchased packs carry the same unlimited licensing terms.

What is the FilmHERO license term?

Any footage downloaded as an active subscriber can be used indefinitely in any film, video, or web production for projects created during the subscription period. Once your subscription expires, FilmHERO will not charge additional fees for these works. After your membership expires, you may not create new film, TV, or web edits from the downloaded footage. If you purchase a pack individually, those clips may be included in future edits indefinitely.

What if the video is for a third-party client of mine?

If you are commissioned to produce a commercial or personal film for a client, you may use FilmHERO footage within that production. The client may not use the footage outside of the production you were commissioned to make.

How many employees or collaborators can use the license?

We sell licenses based on the number of editing seats used internally within your company. For example, purchasing 5 seats will allow 5 company editors to access the footage. One license allows a single editor within the same business. Anyone working outside the company, such as contractors, will need their own license.

Can I resell FilmHERO media?

The license allows you to sell your film, TV, or web works that include FilmHERO content as part of your creation, but you may not resell individual media.

Can I see a preview of the 4K footage?

Yes, you can download free watermarked preview clips directly from the pack. This is very useful when compiling edits or pitching ideas to clients. However, if you are not a subscriber or have not purchased the pack, you may not use the watermarked previews in commercial projects.

Is the footage royalty-free?

Yes, pack purchasers, subscribers, and their clients can use the footage royalty-free.

Are there any platform distribution restrictions?

No, you may distribute your films on any platform, such as film, TV, web, games, apps, and platforms that may not yet exist.

What is "proper use"?

The prohibited party uses the content in any of the following ways. Using the content in an unlawful manner or in violation of any applicable regulations or industry norms; pornographic use; using the content in any manner that could reasonably be considered unnecessarily controversial or likely to offend a reasonable person; using the content in a way that could harm the licensor or any model or actor appearing in the content, such as inducing the public to lose respect for the licensor or any actor or model; products primarily composed of the content, representing that the licensee is the sole copyright owner of the product; and using the content to create digital templates for use outside the licensee's business.

How many clips are in a pack?

From 3 to 20+, depending on the individual pack. Our goal is to have a large number of clips in each to assist with your editing.

What resolutions and frame rates do you offer?

All clips are in 4K resolution at 29.97 frames per second. We chose these frame rates because it's easier to drop frames than to add them (no frame interpolation required). We don't want you to be limited by lower frame rates.

What codecs do you offer?

We offer H264 (graded), DNxHQ (flat ungraded), and ProRes (flat ungraded). We want editors to have the flexibility to color grade from a flat look to the look that suits your project.

How do I download my files?

After purchasing a pack or subscribing to FilmHERO, you will be able to click the download button on each clip or from your saved project folder. On some browsers, a left-click is sufficient, but on others, right-clicking and "Save As" will immediately initiate the download.

Can I preview all the clips in a pack?

Yes, if you hover over any clip, we provide a sample video for download. This is different from the purchased clip; this one is watermarked.

What about redistributing clips or packs?

You may not license FilmHERO packs and make them available for browsing, viewing, or on-demand selection "as is" (and certainly not as standalone clips or stock items). These clips, audio, and media are intended for use in projects and edits.

Do you offer refunds?

We provide watermarked previews to help you avoid choosing the wrong clip. If there is a quality issue, we will first work to resolve it, and if our product continues to malfunction, we will offer a refund.
