Giphy_云技派,专注ai人工智能!Introduction

Giphy is an online dynamic GIF image search engine, and is currently one of the higher-tier animated image libraries in terms of quality and quantity. Used appropriately, animated images can make your tweets more vivid and engaging. It is a website that searches for dynamic GIF animation resources on the internet, known as the Google of the GIF world. Giphy works like any other search engine: users simply type or upload what they're looking for into the search box at the top of the page to get relevant results.
Giphy was founded in February 2013 by Alex Chung and Jace Cooke. Within its first week of launch, it attracted around 1 million users. As of October 2016, Giphy had 100 million daily active users, generated over 1 billion GIFs every day, and more than 2 million hours of GIF content were viewed daily.
In May 2020, U.S. social media company Facebook (now Meta) announced the acquisition of GIPHY for $400 million. On August 12, 2021, the UK's Competition and Markets Authority published a report stating that the acquisition could potentially prevent other social platforms from using Giphy and would increase Facebook's market influence. On September 8, the UK authority ordered Facebook to divest its shares in Giphy. Facebook challenged the authority's power to make such a demand, stating that Giphy's integrations with other social platforms such as Twitter, Snapchat, and TikTok had not changed as a result of the acquisition.
On October 18, 2022 local time, Facebook's parent company Meta Platforms agreed to sell Giphy.
