How to Use Waifu2x-Extension-GUI?

Download and unzip

1. Go to the release page https://github.com/AaronFeng753/Waifu2x-Extension-GUI/releases/latest

2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and download the archive with "GREEN.7z" in its name (the green/portable version, no installation needed).

3. Unzip it to any folder and double-click Waifu2x-Extension-GUI.exe to open it.

Drag files in and select a preset

• Drag images, videos, or GIFs directly into the main window (multiple files at once are supported).

• First, pick a stable option from the "Quick Presets" in the upper right corner:

• Pure 2D anime → select "2× Anime"

• Real-life photos or phone videos → select "2× Photo"

• If you also want the video to play smoother, check "Enable Frame Interpolation" (doubles the frame rate by default).

Start processing

• Click the big "Start" button at the bottom.

• The first time, a dialog will pop up asking you to select a working folder for storing extracted frames; pick a drive with at least 10GB of free space.

• Wait for the progress bar to finish, then go to the output directory to find your finished files.
