IndieHackers.site: Discover the Best Tools for Indie DevsIntroduction

I am Javayhu, a full-stack developer and the founder of indiehackers.site and Haitang Poetry Society.

I started my indie development journey this year, and I absolutely fell in love with it!

Allow me to introduce indiehackers.site, a platform I launched two months ago.

The purpose of indiehackers.site is to help indie developers discover the best development tools and resources, so they can build and deliver their applications faster and better. Currently, the platform has more than 400 tools related to indie development, carefully organized by categories and tags.

To make it easier for you to find the right tool, I also created a simple Notion site where you can browse all these resources in a convenient table format, ensuring you can quickly find the perfect tool to meet your needs.

But that's not all! You can also submit your indie application to indiehackers.site completely for free! With nearly 200 applications already listed, it is becoming an excellent resource for finding inspiration for your next project.

Core Features of IndieHackers.site:

  • Products: Gather information on tools related to indie development, organized by category, helping indie developers quickly find the most suitable tools and speed up their workflow.

  • Tutorials: Collect and write tutorials related to indie development tools, helping indie developers quickly get started with the best tools and apply them to their products.

  • Indie Applications: Collect and showcase applications created by outstanding indie developers, 100% free! It is also a great place to find inspiration for new applications.

Why am I building IndieHackers.site, the indie developer navigation site?

The reason is simple. As a new indie developer, I encountered some issues when trying to get into the field of indie development:

What tools are needed for indie development? Which tools are best for me to use?

What tech stack does indie development require? How do I get started with these new technologies?

What are other indie developers working on? Have they made a profit? How are they monetizing?

The indie developer navigation site was born to solve these problems, so I built this Indie Hackers navigation site, hoping to lower the barrier to becoming an indie developer.

Will the features of the IndieHackers.site indie developer navigation site be charged?

Currently, the indie developer navigation site has no paid features. You can submit your indie-developed products for free (they will be displayed after passing review), and you can also recommend excellent tools you discover at any time.

I develop this site as a side project in my spare time, so the lack of revenue does not affect my normal work and life, and the operating cost of the site is almost zero, so there is no need to worry about the site being shut down due to lack of revenue.

How will IndieHackers.site monetize?

The monetization model has not been determined yet. Possible options include joining an Affiliate program for marketing, or accepting sponsorship through Buy me a coffee.

In the future, I may write a booklet about my experience developing this site, exploring the possibility of paid knowledge. I wonder if anyone would be willing to pay for it—do I ultimately have to go down the paid knowledge route?

In summary, IndieHackers.site is a platform that provides efficient product resources and recommendations for indie developers, helping them complete application development and promotion faster and better.
