The Miaojian Template Open Platform is a tool platform opened by Miaojian to all users for creating video templates. Users can design and create video templates on the open platform, and once approved, share them with others via QR code or by copying the link.

Once your template is approved, you can share your Miaojian template video to Channels, WeChat Moments, or directly send it to a friend via WeChat. After the video is shared to Channels, the video will carry a "Make the Same Edit" (剪同款) tag. People who like the video can use your template via the Make the Same Edit function to create their own videos, and your templates will have the chance to be seen and used by more people.

Differences between Jianying (剪映) and Miaojian (秒剪):

Jianying – I spent several hours editing a video in Jianying, and in the end I couldn't export it because of the membership requirement, so a paid membership was needed. Reluctantly, I tried Miaojian.

Jianying has more comprehensive features—effects can be set individually for each segment, it's easy to find the right music by category, you can set beat-points in the music, and you can manually configure segments based on those beat-points. It also offers plenty of intro templates.

For Miaojian, the effects I tried currently apply to the entire video at once, but it auto beat-matches. The music categories are hard to navigate and can only be found via search, the beat-matching isn't very accurate and requires manual adjustment, and beat-points cannot be set manually, so you need to have the rhythm in mind. The intros only offer simple entry styles and are fairly basic. The upside is that you can add WeChat stickers!
