CodeFormer is a powerful AI video decoding and image restoration tool, a facial restoration powerhouse. Its features include facial clarity restoration, facial colorization, and facial mosaic removal, and it can be applied in various scenarios. It was developed by S-Lab at Nanyang Technological University. It achieves facial transformation through a network architecture, including colorization, clarity enhancement, and mosaic removal restoration. The official test comparison images show that its restoration results are excellent.

Testing this tool is very simple — just download the source code and install the PyTorch framework. By entering different parameters via the command line, you can perform facial clarity restoration, facial colorization, and facial mosaic removal. However, the facial mosaic removal algorithm only supports white obstructions; other colors are not supported, which may be a drawback of this tool.
