Huanman (幻漫) is a recently revealed AI comic-drama creation tool from Alibaba, currently still in its beta testing phase. This is an important product marking Alibaba's entry into the comic-drama track, focusing on using AI technology to lower the creative threshold, so that comic-drama creators no longer need to get bogged down in technical details and can focus their energy on content creativity.
Creation Process: Four Steps to Complete a Comic-Drama
Huanman breaks the entire creation process down into four stages, basically covering the full chain from project setup to finished film:
1. Basic Settings
First, give your comic-drama a name and write a brief introduction. By default, it uses 2D anime style and a 16:9 aspect ratio, which offers better compatibility when publishing on mainstream video platforms.
2. Script Planning
You can write it episode by episode, setting the genre type (such as popular themes like xianxia or suspense), duration, main characters, and scene requirements. Details like character personalities and scene atmosphere can also be fine-tuned.
3. Asset Management
This section is divided into three modules for managing creative assets:
Characters: Define what a character looks like, their personality, and the relationships between characters on your own
Scenes: You can upload materials locally or use the online resource library. Professional parameters like camera angles, framing, and time-of-day atmosphere can all be adjusted, with granularity down to the level of individual settings like "the bookshelves and desk in the Ink Residence study"
Item Library: Various props (such as magical artifacts, daily necessities, etc.) can all be customized individually
4. Storyboard and Video Output
Arrange the sequence of shots through the storyboard script, and the system will automatically handle transitions and camera language, finally outputting the finished film directly.

There are already more than 20 companies making AI comic-drama tools, and everyone's features are actually pretty similar—the main competition is on Token costs, i.e., cloud computing pricing. Whoever can push costs lower has the edge.
