What is alphaXiv?

alphaXiv is an academic exchange platform founded in May 2023 by Stanford students Rehaan Ahmad and Raj Palleti. It is built on arXiv preprint resources and uses AI technology to enable real-time interactive discussions on papers.

AlphaXiv Features

• Comments and Discussions: Users can access the AlphaXiv discussion page for an arXiv paper by replacing "arxiv.org" in the paper's URL with "alphaxiv.org". The page displays the original paper on the left side and a comment section on the right, where users can post comments or ask questions about specific parts of the paper. Authors can also join the discussion directly to answer readers' questions.

• Search and Display: The platform provides paper search functionality and showcases trending discussion topics, making it easy for users to quickly find papers and discussions of interest.

• Deep Research Feature: A new feature launched in April 2025 that generates literature reviews in seconds. For example, entering "self-supervised learning review" will automatically generate a complete review framework with references.

1. Access AlphaXiv

• Website: Go directly to the AlphaXiv official website.

• Browser Extension: Install the AlphaXiv Chrome extension (if using the Chrome browser). Once installed, when you browse arXiv papers, the extension will automatically notify you if a related discussion page exists.

2. Find the Discussion Page for a Paper

• Direct Access: If you already know the arXiv link of a paper, simply replace arxiv.org in the link with alphaxiv.org to access the discussion page for that paper. For example:

• After replacement: https://alphaxiv.org/abs/2504.01234

• Via Search: Enter the paper title, author, or keywords in the search box on AlphaXiv's homepage to find papers and their discussion pages of interest.

3. Participate in Discussions

• Register an Account: To better participate in discussions, it is recommended to register and log in to an AlphaXiv account. The registration process is simple and supports quick login with a Google account.

• Post Comments: In the comment section on the right side of the paper page, you can directly post comments or ask questions. You can choose to comment on a specific paragraph of the paper or share your views on the paper as a whole.
