MoCha: Meta's First DiT Model for Cinematic-Quality Talking Character Generation
What is MoCha?
MoCha is an ai model jointly developed by Meta and the University of Toronto. It can generate high-quality character animations with complete figures based on voice or text input, producing coherent and smooth movements and supporting multi-character conversations. It is the first DiT model capable of achieving cinematic-level conversational character generation.

MoCha Features
Voice-driven character animation generation: Users input voice, and MoCha can generate character mouth shapes, facial expressions, gestures, and body movements synchronized with the voice content.
Text-driven character animation generation: Users only need to input a text script. MoCha will first automatically synthesize the voice, then drive the character to perform complete mouth shapes and actions.
Multi-character turn-taking conversation generation: MoCha provides structured prompt templates and character tags, can automatically identify conversation turns, and achieve natural back-and-forth dialogue presentation between characters.
Supports multiple application scenarios: including virtual streamers, animation and film creation, educational content creation, digital human customer service, and digital legacy.

MoCha Advantages
Cinematic-level generated content: Unlike traditional "Talking Head" technology, MoCha can generate full-body animations, making character movements more natural.
Lowers the creation barrier: No need for motion capture equipment or 3D modeling experience, reducing the barrier to content creation.
MoCha Applications:
Virtual streamers: Automatically generate daily Vlogs and character Q&A
Animation and film creation: AI automatic dubbing + automatic animation, reducing production costs
Educational content creation: AI teacher characters giving lectures or interacting
Digital human customer service: Anthropomorphic enterprise customer service and consulting characters
Digital legacy: Creating dynamic images of historical figures or the deceased
