WeChat Search Integrates DeepSeek in Limited Beta 196

Late night on February 15, media outlets noticed that WeChat's "Search" feature is testing integration with DeepSeek-R1.

Where is the WeChat DeepSeek entry point?

The entry point is located in the search box at the top of the WeChat home page. When you tap on it, you'll see an "AI Search" feature, which is currently in a gray-scale testing phase, and only some users can see it. If yours doesn't show this entry yet, it means the gray-scale test hasn't covered your account, so please wait patiently for the rollout.

Specific features of WeChat DeepSeek:

Users can find the "AI Search" option in the search box at the top of the chat interface. After clicking it, they can choose between two search modes: "Quick Answer" and "Deep Thinking." This reflects WeChat's effort to enhance the intelligence of its search functionality, leveraging DeepSeek's technology to optimize the search experience.

Tencent's response:

In response to this development, Tencent quickly responded and confirmed the fact that WeChat has started integrating DeepSeek. WeChat's feature introduction page clearly states that this collaboration involves the use of DeepSeek's open-source large model, and specifically thanks DeepSeek company and the DeepSeek open-source community for their contributions. Some users commented on this: "A national-fortune-level AI + a national-level application, a truly unbeatable combo."

In addition, multiple Tencent products have also integrated DeepSeek. On February 13, Tencent's AI assistant "Tencent Yuanbao" was updated to add support for both Hunyuan and DeepSeek models.

DeepSeek is a highly influential company in the AI field. Its DeepSeek R1 model employs an innovative algorithmic architecture and large-scale training data. The model possesses powerful semantic understanding capabilities, able to deeply analyze various complex questions input by users and accurately grasp their needs; at the same time, it can integrate knowledge from multiple fields to provide users with comprehensive and precise answers.
