Gen-3 Alpha: Runway's Next-Generation Video Generation Model 202

Runway has launched its next-generation video generation model, Gen-3 Alpha, which enables fine-grained temporal control. Gen-3 offers higher fidelity and consistency, and is capable of generating expressive, lifelike human characters with a wide range of actions, gestures, and emotions, unlocking new storytelling opportunities.

Gen-3 Alpha demonstrates clear advantages in multimodal training, a variety of generation tools, fine-grained temporal control, high-quality image and video generation, advanced control modes, as well as efficient compute and storage architectures.

Gen-3 Alpha is the first in a series of models that Runway will train on a new infrastructure built for large-scale multimodal training. Compared with Gen-2, it represents a significant improvement in fidelity, consistency, and motion, and is a step toward building a general world model.
