OS 18 is the latest version of IOS released by Apple. The most notable update is the deeply integrated Apple Intelligence, an intelligent assistant that leverages generative models based on personal scenarios to provide practical and targeted smart features tailored to users' specific contexts.

iOS 18 Feature Updates:

• Home Screen Customization: Users can place apps and widgets anywhere on the blank areas of the Home Screen, and even adjust their appearance and size to create a fully personalized interface.

• Redesigned Control Center: The Control Center has been redesigned to make it easier for users to access everyday tasks such as media playback, Home controls, and connectivity. In addition, users can add compatible third-party app controls to the Control Center to quickly unlock their vehicle or capture content directly for social media.

• Lock Screen Controls: Users can customize the controls at the bottom of the Lock Screen, choose options from the gallery, or remove them entirely. For users with iPhone 15 Pro, the Action button can also be used to quickly access controls from the gallery.

• Photos App Updates: The Photos app has received a unified view and new photo collections, making browsing photos more intuitive and convenient. Users can pin their favorite collections and enjoy a new carousel view that updates daily, showcasing featured people, pets, locations, and more.

• Messages App Enhancements: The Messages app has added a variety of text effects, such as animated effects and text formatting, making conversations more vivid. Users can also schedule messages to be sent later.

• Mail App Enhancements: The Mail app leverages on-device intelligence to categorize emails, simplifying the inbox. A new summary view aggregates all relevant emails from the same business, allowing users to browse quickly.

• Major Safari Updates: Safari uses machine learning to present key information on web pages, such as article summaries and locations. A redesigned Reader generates a table of contents for long articles, enhancing the reading experience.

• Launch of the Passwords App: The brand-new Passwords app builds on Apple's Keychain feature first introduced 25 years ago, allowing users to easily access securely stored account passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and verification codes.

• New Privacy Features: iOS 18 offers the ability to lock and hide apps, ensuring that users' private information is not seen by others inadvertently. Users can lock apps and move them to a locked and hidden app folder for additional privacy protection.

• Revolutionary Apple Intelligence Features: iOS 18 includes new system-wide Writing Tools that help users rewrite, proofread, and summarize text. Image Playground allows users to create fun images in just a few seconds. The "Memories" feature in the Photos app can quickly create stories based on descriptive text entered by the user. The Clean Up tool can identify and remove distracting objects from photo backgrounds.

• Siri Enhancements: Siri delivers significantly improved performance with responses that are more natural, more relevant, and more tailored to the user's personal context. Users can interact with Siri by text and freely switch between text and voice.

• Private Cloud Compute: With Private Cloud Compute, Apple sets a new standard for ai privacy and can flexibly allocate and scale computational resources between on-device and larger server-based models powered by Apple silicon.

• ChatGPT Integration: Siri and the system-wide Writing Tools across Apple platforms integrate ChatGPT functionality, supporting users in directly leveraging ChatGPT's expertise.
