What updates were announced at OpenAl's spring launch event.jpg

A brief summary of OpenAl's spring launch event — feel free to add anything I've missed!

  • Added desktop applications & web UI updates

  • Released GPT-4o, available for free, integrating text, voice, video, and image in one.

  • GPT-4o API is 2x faster, and the rate limits are 5x higher compared to GPT-4 Turbo

  • Real-time voice assistant demo with multiple people, mainly demonstrating real-time conversation with ChatGPT — not only can it "hear", but also "see", and of course it can "think" and "respond".

  • Multi-modal recognition allows ChatGPT to solve math problems with you.

  • ChatGPT Desktop App can "see" your computer screen, assisting with code generation and chart analysis

  • Acts as a translation assistant, providing real-time translation that is fast and accurate

  • It can also recognize real human facial expressions

  • Released a desktop application — a new ChatGPT desktop application for macOS has been released to both free and paid users.

What's surprising is that it announced features previously available only to paid users, such as GPTs, the GPT Store, and GPT-4, will now be available for free. I'll close with OpenAl's mission — they really are advancing all of humanity forward!
