How to Use Copilot: FAQ for China Region, Features, Pricing & More

Microsoft Copilot (formerly known as Bing Chat) has officially launched and exited preview. Caitlin Roulston, Microsoft's director of communications, confirmed that this artificial intelligence chat bot, formerly known as Bing Chat, is now available in 169 countries/regions and 105 languages, running seamlessly on all modern mobile and web browsers. However, it is important to note that China is one of the countries where Copilot is currently unavailable.
What is Copilot?
Copilot is the new name for Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise and is now generally available. Currently, as the experience transitions to the new name, Copilot and Bing Chat Enterprise can be used interchangeably. It can be accessed via copilot.microsoft.com, Bing.com/chat, Edge, and Windows. It is also available through the Copilot, Bing, Edge, Microsoft Start, and Microsoft 365 mobile apps. Eligible users who log in to Copilot with an Entra ID will receive commercial data protection.

Main capabilities of Copilot:
Copilot Pro includes priority access to the latest OpenAI models, the ability to build your own Copilot GPT, and access to Copilot within Office applications (if you are already a Microsoft 365 Personal or Family subscriber). Microsoft has now also unlocked Copilot Pro in Office web applications, so you don't need a separate Microsoft 365 subscription to use the chatbot in Word, Outlook, and other free web applications, and Copilot Pro integration will also be available in mobile apps soon.

What is the difference between Copilot and Copilot for Microsoft 365?
Copilot is a generative AI service based solely on data from the public web in the Bing search index. Even with commercial data protection enabled, it cannot access organizational resources or content in the Microsoft 365 Graph, such as documents in OneDrive, emails, or other data.
Copilot for Microsoft 365 adds three capabilities:
Access to data in the Microsoft 365 Graph within the tenant.
Prompts and responses, along with other Microsoft 365-specific security, compliance, and privacy features, are processed entirely within the Microsoft 365 tenant boundary.
Access to this generative AI capability from Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams, Outlook, and Word.
